Arisrv Calendar: encrypted event details and public booking pages

1 min readBy Arisrv

By default, Arisrv Calendar encrypts event titles, descriptions, locations, attendee lists and meeting links on your device. Our servers see only what they need to schedule: start and end times, time zone and recurrence.

Encrypted by default

New calendars are end-to-end encrypted. The event title, description, location, attendee list and meeting link are sealed on your device. Our servers see what they need to schedule: when an event starts and ends, its time zone and how it repeats. The event time is cryptographically bound to the encrypted details, so the server cannot silently move your events.

Booking pages

Booking pages give other people a public link that shows only your open slots, with your own duration, buffer and notice rules. What people enter when they book is encrypted to your key before it is stored (our server sees it at the moment it is submitted).

Import and export

You can import and export standard .ics files; for encrypted calendars the conversion happens in your browser. Syncing with external calendars over CalDAV or subscriptions uses calendars our server can read, and the app shows which mode a calendar uses.

Meetings

You can add an Arisrv Meet room to any event with one toggle, and booking pages can add one automatically.

Invitations

People outside Arisrv receive a normal calendar invitation email with the event details.

Platforms

Calendar works on the web and on Windows, and the Android app is in testing. On Android, reminders are scheduled on your phone from your decrypted events. iOS is not available yet.
