Arisrv Office: live collaboration, encrypted on your device
1 min readBy Arisrv
In end-to-end encrypted documents — the default — every edit is encrypted on your device before it is sent to your collaborators. Our servers relay and store updates they cannot read.
Documents, spreadsheets and presentations
Arisrv Office covers documents, spreadsheets and presentations, plus whiteboards and notebooks.
Encrypted collaboration
Each document has its own key, shared with collaborators by encrypting it to their personal keys. In end-to-end encrypted documents, which are the default, every edit is encrypted on your device before it is sent. Our servers relay and store collaboration updates they cannot read, and they never need to merge your text. Document titles and comments are encrypted too.
What goes through our servers
Anything you choose to send to an AI feature is processed on our servers, and AI features are off for encrypted documents unless you opt in. Notebook note titles are not encrypted. Our servers also see document type, members and their roles, sizes, times, version labels and who is connected.
Files and versions
You can import and export Word, Excel and PowerPoint files; for encrypted documents the conversion happens in your browser. You can save versions of a document and restore an earlier one, and threaded comments let you discuss a document.
Platforms
Office works on the web and on Windows; the Android app, which also supports offline editing, is in testing. iOS is not available yet.
