Set up two-factor authentication
Arisrv ID requires a second factor. The first time you sign in, you set up an authenticator app; afterwards you can add passkeys or security keys in the Security centre.
The first time you sign in
If your account has no second factor yet, the sign-in card shows Protect your account with a second factor:
- Scan the code with an authenticator app (Arisrv Authenticator or any TOTP app).
- Enter the six-digit code it shows.
- Save the 12 recovery codes that appear. They are shown only once.
- Sign in again with your password and a fresh code from the app.
If your organization requires a passkey, you are asked to register one instead.
Add another factor later
Open Security → Security centre → Two-factor authentication (or go to account.arisrv.com/security#mfa).
Authenticator app
- Choose Add an authenticator app.
- Scan the code, or use the setup key if you cannot scan.
- Optionally Name this factor, enter the six-digit code and choose Verify.
Passkey or security key
- Choose Add a passkey.
- Follow your browser's prompt.
At sign-in, a passkey is used after your password: choose Use a security key or passkey at the second step.
Phone number (SMS) — SMS is the weakest second factor; prefer an app or a passkey.
Recovery codes
The Recovery codes card shows how many unused codes you have. Choose Generate new codes when you run low — this immediately invalidates the old ones. To use a code at sign-in, choose Use a recovery code instead.
Managing factors
You can Make primary or Remove factor. You cannot remove your only second factor: add another one first.
Tip: Trust this device for 30 days skips the second step on a device you trust.
